Album Review: Vibewise "Natty Soldier"                                by

I picked this disc up from roadie Maharajah when Vibewise was performing at Copley.  It was the day of the SEIU protests and after being stopped by Boston's Undercover Detectives for carring a scary looking bag full of Haters Magazines, I followed a ragtag bunch of anarcho-scum to Copley Square.

To my surprise and delight, Vibewise was kicking out a free contact high of righteous dub.  They were playing "Creole Woman" and this track is not only great live, it is blazed into my dome as the best track on the album.  The rest of the album bangs too.  This group has been busting its ass around the yard for a long time, and is now officially recognized for their efforts.

Composed of Domus, Ajahni, Zach Monroe, Donny Jones, and P-Nut, Vibewise is a great blend of electronic and analog riddim, acidic guitar and deceptively simple dub vocals.  This crew is a master of effects. Dig the bone crushing tracks as well as the slow tracks.  I mean it.  Listen to Vibewise.
