An Anti-W.A.R. Message: Debunking
the "Win Animal Rights" Vegan Cult by
<< Privileged caucasian american in expensive black clothing
challenging the system on behalf of bunnies. (From the WAR
website).
The eco-terrorist cult Win Animal Rights circulates a Kathy Freston
message called You
Call Yourself a Progressive -- But You Still Eat Meat? which
attempts to foist its neo-pythagorrean, animal-jainist, misanthropic
nutritional views on the Social Progressives, but not with the
desirable aim of starving and emaciating them to death. In this
writing, I debunk the claims of WAR.
1) Eating a
plant-based diet is cheap.
--No cheaper than eating a balanced diet. There are also costs
incurred with owning and farming your own land, and the impracticality
of doing so in a major city, or near a grocery store. Often,
eating a vegan diet is actually more expensive, as luxury organic food,
and specialty food, and ersatz food, and gastro-peculiar food are all
higher priced. There is an unspoken imperative to grow tomatoes
in your basement.
2) The
livestock industry is a major contributor to global warming.
--Cow farts can be mitigated. Eating vegetables and nuts causes
farting too. Vegans fart, despite their pandering to
fartophobia. Also, plants produce carbon dioxide during the night
respiratory cycle, so plants also contribute to global warming.
Plants also eat fart. Fart is made of methane and nitrate.
Plants love it. If left alone, plants would probably destroy the
earth. Nobody has studied this.
3) Veganism is
a healthy diet. Whereas having a balanced diet is unhealthy.
--Here vegans selectively subscribe to the scare tactics of the
pharmaceutical and food industries, who have middle class television
viewers petrified of cholesterol, obesity, blood pressure, diabetes,
and colon cancer. Allegedly drinking orange juice and eating Cheerios
and broccoli cures everything, as does consuming vitamin
supplements. here, vegans have capitalized on advertising
propaganda to rationalize their eating preferences.
4) Dr. Andrew
Weil sex there is something called arachidonic (fatty) acid in animal
flesh that causes inflammation.
--Dr. Post said there was something in Grape Nuts called "grape sugar"
that was nutritious. These "scientists" come along every
day. Pepsi allegedly cured dyspepsia. Pundits routinely
"discover" compounds which allegedly operate in a vaccum unmitigated by
any other substance, causing either extasy or calamity, and we are
supposed to believe them. Presumedly, only watching the news is safe or
good for you. Fat chance. And I wouldn't go axing fatty acids out
of my diet, If I were you. It makes you stupider.
5) Some of the
worlds top atheletes are vegan.
--Some of the world's top athletes smoke pot, use cocaine and take HGH
injections.
6)
Deforestation to grow soy is the fault of livestock growers.
--This is based in the idea that it takes so many pounds of tofu to
feed a buffalo, and that this tofu is better off being fed to
vegans. This originates in the college vegan community's
predilection for free food, or cheap and easy food served from a
dumpster, to complement their cheap and easy lifestyle, which
consequently requires the destruction of the livestock industry in
order to justify. It has elements of anarchism to it, namely that
a food hierarchy should not exist, and that food should be
utilitarianly allocated to the greatest quantity of hominid stomachs,
and not to the animals with the most stomachs. There is in here
an inherent hatred of cow digestion, cow eating, and cow farting, and a
preference for cow patting, cow worship, and cow telepathy.
7) Kosher meat
is as bad as normal meat.
--While it is true that Kosher food merely has a magic wand waved over
it, the primary purpose of this vegan argument is to lay a guilt trip
on Jewish people, and not to prevent animal cruelty. Veganism is
really a distinct religion from Judaism, and this is inter-cult
rivalry. The Torah enumerates its own peculiar dietary
restrictions against pork, deer, and crustaceans. These are
largely in conflict with the peculiar dietary restrictions of the
Jainist, Neo-pythagorrean Vegans, who do eat the plant testicle (beans)
but who shun organisms with a central nervous system. Kosher Meat
and the Palestinian issue are a major source of conflict in the Social
Progressive movements where they coalign with or abut Judaism.
8) No
reputable scientific or medical body believes that eating animals is
good for us.
--Special Pleading. Define "reputable." Vegans neither run,
nor are expressly qualified to run a scientific medical board.
9) Meat
production is resource-intensive and polluting.
--Vegans also believe that flesh pollutes flesh. They disagree
with the consumption of the resource on religious and superstitious
grounds and therefore no allocation or retraction of resources to the
production of said item -- short of absolute compliance -- would
satisfy them.
10) Hamburger is to SUV as wheatsteak is to Prius.
--Priuses actually get crappy mileage too, and
you have to drive like a sissy in one. Priuses are low on power,
as are vegans. Wheatsteaks taste and look disgusting and are
ersatz food. Just as Priuses are not really cars, but rather
expensive urban political statements of no greater merit, aesthetics,
durability, or economy than SUVs. They also require mass
production, pollution, and food consumption to produce. Cars as
such also consume 15% ethanol, which is made from corn, thus if cows
don't eat it, your socialist electro-car will.
11) Although
vegans are preachy judgmental extremists, this is required to wake
people from their slumber.
--This is recycled Christian pastoralist garbage, and shepherding
imagery. Yet it is widely known that Vegans don't tolerate
Christians. And of course, nobody likes a Jehovah's Witness.
12) Social
progressives have an illustrious history of stopping bad behavior such
as slavery, sexual harrassment,
and sweatshops. Veganism is just part of this great tradition.
--The tradition is called Social Gospel, and it is neither illustrious,
nor great. Vegans are merely co-opting the fame of Frederick
Douglas and Susan B. Anthony and thus reducing black people, women and
children to the status of cows, pigs and chickens. Thus it is
marked as a fundamentally white, gothic, Platonist, privileged
philosophy, or rather mental disorder.
13) If we are
to continue evolving -- physically, emotionally, and spiritually -- we
must become vegan.
--That is not evolution, it is Evolutionary Social Gospel, a fusion of
Social Darwinism, Christianity, and Socialism. It has precious
little to do with speciation, and everything to do with having a
Platonist instead of an Aristotelian worldview.
14) Vegans
should not play into the self-righteous stereotypes, or be shrill or
judgmental.
--You might as well. You already are these things. But
normal people understand that you need to reconcile the post 60's
attitude of self-deprecation, non-judgementalism, and situationism with
your need to be preachy, pretentious, transcendent, and
meddlesome. Any synthesis of these opposing needs can only be
humorous.
15) We
understand that Eskimos and Indians eat meat.
--Yes. Like Islam can't thrive outside a desert, and like
socialism can't thrive outside totalitarian poverty, veganism cannot
function outside the sharply defined parameter of white guilt and
anti-racist situationism. Veganism is not mandatory for noble
savages. Can Papuans eat heads too?
16) Being vegan is not exactly the supreme sacrifice.
--It must not be for the greatest good then either, according to
Platonism. But supposing it were for the good of the many, and
not the all, then it would be
deemed as good and as necessary a sacrifice as free speech or one's
hard earned money and property wouldn't it?
17) There is a
lot of tasty vegan food.
--Yes there is. Saccharine is also tasty, and so is a dry
martini, a cheeseburger, or a human head braised in a lemon
sauce. De
gustibus non erat disputandum.
18) It
may be natural for the strong to dominate the weak, but that doesn't
make it morally right.
--This is a personal, private morality and has no bearing on any person
under Randian, Logical Positivist, Nietzschean, Machiavellian, or
Suprematist ethics. And there is no basis, perhaps there is even an nonbasis to vegan relativists
asserting a supreme set of universal or Kantian ethics. Without
hierarchy there can be no epistemology of moral ethics.
19) The law of
the jungle does not apply to modern sensible humans. Thus eating
meat is "unnatural."
--Then there is no basis to fight the deforestation of the
jungle. Man has no use for nature. Man is sophisticated and
wears plastic loafers.
20) Bodies
don't require meat to be healthy. Heck, Cholesterol is even ba-a-a-a-a-a-d for you.
--This is a pharmaceutical bias and a plea for transhumanism and
artificiality. Cholesterol is a logical amphiboly. There is
also assumed here a health-food imperative.
21) Dr. Milton
Mills sez human physiology is not designed for meat comsumption.
--Authoritative fallacy. The man is an ass. Also, a
presumption of Intelligent
Design. Way to go!
22) Man is no
longer a hunter-gatherer and thus does not need to hunt meat.
--Ergo, he does not need to gather nuts and berries. But in the
meantime, he needs to eat. Of course, he doesn't need to eat. He doesn't need to live. Ergo, vegan
misanthropy.
23) Meat is
dirty, filthy, cruel, and procured in disgusting ways.
--Jewish meets Christian food superstitions, meets Socialist criticism
of industry. A postmodern passion play for pigs, cows and
chickens.
24) Animals
are equal to, if not better than humans.
--Somebody has watched too many episodes of Lassie and Flipper.
So much so, that they think they are telepathic with puppies and
dolphins. This is also an idealization of, ergo an animism of
animals, and an anthropomorphism of animals, since vegans project their
feelings of innocence, weakness, and voiceless helplessness on
animals. This is identical to the motivations of pro-lifers and
their fixation with human fetuses. Homosocialists also project their
homosexuality upon dolphins and geckos but hate fetuses. Secondly, if animals were superior
to humans, they would eat humans. In some cases, and on occasion
they do, and in that they occasionally achieve parity.
25) You should
draw the moral line at microbes. It is okay to kill
microbes. Just not things with nervous systems.
-- Selective application of the Hippocratic Oath. Pro-aborts and
vegans flock together. How now this preference of chickens over
fetuses? Vegans oppose eating scrambled eggs, but favor
scrambling human zygotes. It is hardly a straw man
hypothesis. Vegans believe animal rights to be a part of
universal human rights, but they prefer an animal right to life and a human right to abortion. If a
human right to life depended upon eating only meat, vegans would still
oppose it.
26) Although
we cannot prove that meat kills you, we can claim that it shortens your
lifespan.
--"You're gonna look like a damn fool dying from nothing." --Redd
Foxx
27) You may
real like meat, but you can brainwash yourself into liking fake meat.
--There are not enough fatty acids in walnuts to facilitate most
peoples' conversion to your religion. Besides, aren't you just
reciting the pink soup ethics of 1984 now?
28) Veganism
is empowering.
--Yes. In the same way that believing in a savior is
empowering. In the superstitious and moral masturbatory
way. In the circumcision-mitzvah way. In the knocking one's
teeth out and fellating men in the longhouse way. You become accepted
into a tribal or pastoral minority commune.
29) Veganism
is compassionate.
--Buddhism is compassionate, and many Buddhists eat meat.
Euthanasia is compassionate. A swift death penalty is
compassionate. But compassion is a fundamentally religious ethic
and not utilitarian, and therefore in contravention of your stated
beliefs. Also, to normal people who eat a balanced diet, veganism
is cruel to oneself, and if you are a vegan who most likely owns a cat,
then it is also cruel to pets. We have seen you feeding your pets
celery and vitamin supplements. You know this to be wrong
behavior. Poor kitty.
30)
Animals are pets, not food.
--To each his own.
31) Alec
Baldwin says meat eating is wrong.
--That's convincing.
32)
Slaughterhouses are sweatshops.
--Mexicans are a red herring. When I eat a hamburger, I am not
eating a Mexican unless his hand slipped into the meat grinder.
It may astonish you to discover that Mexicans also eat meat. They
call it carnitas.
33) Hummers
are evil, therefore Hamburgers
are evil.
--There is a jail cell waiting for you right next to Jeff Luers.
If you can justify arson, vandalism, and theft in the name of your
driving and dietary preferences, then you represent a small minority of
persons in prison for being violently weird. Incidentally, most people
know that WAR operates with ALF and the Prison Abolition
Movement. You contribute to the same blogs, read the same
literature, swap the same hate emails, eat at the same dumpsters, hover
at the same infoshops, spam the same corporations and champion the same
brokedick causes.
34) The will
of animals, trees, and vegan people is superior to the will of
omnivorous people.
--The will of microbes probably reigns supreme. However, there
are more omnivores than vegans. In fact, vegans exist
parasitically within the modern civilization as a token of the surplus
and tolerance of modern western civilization. Would that vegans
were equally thrifty, productive and tolerant people.

W.A.R. (WIN ANIMAL RIGHTS) http://war-online.org is an
eco-terrorist fundraising organization
which disclaims affiliation or association with SHAC, ALF, ELF or all
the other groups which conduct or incite illegal activity. However,
this is mainly for court defense purposes, and on their blogs,
listservs, and at their meetings they do support these groups and they
do train for and conduct illegal activities. WAR and it's
subsidiary cell, Animal Defense League have been investigated by the
FBI for violations of the Animal Enterprise Terrorist Act and regulary
