Berlet: The Meta-Hate That Anti-Hate Produced by  |

Chip Berlet has reality issues. He is one of the exhibitionists at Political Research Associates who claims that political dissidents in the US are the target of government oppression and that their chosen form of self-expression is being "attacked" by corporations and the government. In this rape fantasy where activists are splayed on their backs in submissively moist poses, Berlet moans little lip-injected Kelly LeBrock sayings like: "this is what the opposition wants." Fortunately, guys like Chip Berlet exist to ensure your safety and provide your security in the Pantene Commercial that is La Resistance. Fortunately, the National Lawyers Guild, of which Berlet is a part, speaks Spanish, Farsi, Punjabi and Portuguese, because as you know, Mexicans, Iranians, Hindus, and Brazilians just don't get get a fair shake in Boston, MA. In fact, everywhere you go in this fair city, you can't help but seeing Persians nailed to crucifixes, Brazilians doing slave labor, and subcontinental Indians extracting salt from Boston Harbor seawater for giant companies. Or is that in their nations of origin? I forget which. Okay, maybe we don't see that. Maybe it is just hidden by a vast right wing conspiracy. So what is on the other side of this nonexistent oppression of exotically genomed homo sapiens in the ever-fickle organic protest grainery? Simply, Berlet's conspiracy of an all out war against the peace of mind and safety of Atheos-fearing, Hellenic intercourse enthusiasts by demons pushing an evil agenda of marriage, monogamy, financial responsibility, speaking one's mind, and being secure in persons and possessions. In other words, Chip Berlet's world is as upside down as Boston City Hall. In Chip's world, America is a terrible place where Arabs and Muslims are being oppressed every day by hate crimes and the crime of being hated. Mexicans are being unfairly deported for being harmless landscapers. Jewish Zionists are being blamed for what is really the fault of Christian Zionist bankers. "Serious progressive analysis" is being mocked by "conspiracism." Chip Berlet can remove your conspiracy illusions (Thetans?) and replace them with a well thought out analyses of political and social organizations, focusing on the core individuals (rich, straight, white, male, christians) who are responsible for all the evil oppression in the United States. But Chip is not above blasting an African American if he steps out of line. Dick Gregory -- one of the most sensible, uncompromising, and convincing New Left activists with a political and comedy career far outstripping Chip's stint at High Times Magazine and job as a guy who thinks in a tank -- was lumped in with the RacistSexistHomophobes for being "willing to work with" anti-socialist organizations such as The John Birch Society. In short, Chip means by this that a stalwart member of the original Civil Rights Movement has no business associating with organizations which criticizes its socialist and communist supporters. By this we can understand Chip Berlet as a defender of the scummier elements of the left wing, namely those with an agenda to infiltrate protest organizations, polarize nitwits, instigate scuffles, dismantle the Constitution, the Border, and the Civilization.

Jesus doesn't stand a chance. That money trail leads to The Tides and The Ford Foundations. The gag is that Chip poses as being oppressed and misrepresented at every turn. Almost all of his compatriots are blog-journalists hawking books about the falling sky and almost all of his targets are other wackos hawking books about the falling sky. So, last week in Harvard Square a friend and I berated some Larouchians for dressing like SDSers in horn-rims, and referring to "the global economy outside of that 'whole money thing.'" One Larouchian explained that he can't see without his glasses, and the other one said that as an individual, I wasn't appropriately choosing a side in the war between The Oligarchy and The Oppressed. Alas, the only dingbat doing so was anti-Larouchian, Chip Berlet engaging in a private crusade against Larouchians, but mainly "fixing facts" to make sure that certain disreputable people on Wikipedia remain in ill-repute and nothing bad is ever said about himself. In other words, he ended up fighting over the Neutral Point of View (NPOV) of his own entry, which attracts as many goofballs as he snipes on their entries, and on his organization's web page. From what facts Chip allows to remain on his wikipedia entry, Chip Berlet is a university dropout alternative journalist, who worked his way up to write for High Times Magazine. He became a paralegal, and did work for the ACLU against the Chicago Red Squads and on behalf of the American Indian Movement and the Socialist Workers Party. He has partnered with Jesuits and Quakers to combat some of the more duly and fairly recognized misdeeds of the FBI and the KKK, but he has also merrily swallowed into his defenses a number of perverts, revolutionaries, and Communists. That sounds like a broad generalization, but one must use as a yardstick another organization: One People's Project and the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is a private intelligence firm run in the deep south as a partnership between rabid zionists and black people and has as its veneer the once highly relevant need for political justice against racism in the deep south. Beneath the veneer is: dossier compilation, situation mapping and blacklisting efforts by a Zionist who equally hates Black Muslims, Black Hebrews, and White Supremacists. I forced them through incessant heckling to finally include The Jewish Defense League which was orchestrating pipe bombings in California. Other people cajoled them into rostering the Kahanist organizations, all of whose members are on no fly lists in the US. SPLC is a race-marxist group using anti-racism and anti-hate as a platform to harass public figures and keep tabs on enemy organizations (including the non-zionist left), much as did the ADL did before it was onerously fined for domestic spying. SPLC also runs Hatewatch in Cambridge, MA. One People's Project is another project run like an independent media center which is a Communist front organization using anti-racism as a raison for aggregating personal and identity data on American citizens. What they do is go to neo-nazi marches, instigate violence, report on the violence, and if they lose, they were oppressed, if they win, the Revolution has scored. Harassing white supremacists is harmless fun perhaps, but this benign activity does result in broken windows, thrown bricks, and numerous white people going into black communities in black clothing to "act black" which they suppose means throwing rocks and bottles and quoting N.W.A. to police in riot gear. That is of course, a faux pas, and perhaps amusing to the more youthful black residents of Toledo, OH, but the unamusing thing is that generally placid communities are disturbed by fame-seeking, nazi-hunting lynch mobs of 60 white people chasing a nearly nonexistent five member organization through peoples' front yards and kicking over the barbecue. The rest of the time, One People's Project is doing what the left hates: aggregating personal data on a red or a red and black page, intimating that they should be eliminated, fronting on Hip Hop, bitching that the Joint Terrorism Task Force is on their trail, calling everyone a RacistSexistHomophobe, making the Westboro Baptist Church out to be a real thing, scarily displaying Nazi iconography, and discussing the misunderstood and misrepresented virtues of Marxism like so many late 1980s West Germans. I am suspicious of organizations like Hatewatch, not because I am a hater of persons, and not merely because I co-edit Haters Magazine. I am suspicious that Deep Ecologists, Zionists, Homosexuals, or Communists have a private intelligence agency and media centers with anonymous or dubiously acclaimed owners who make unsigned, ridonkulous claims attributed to the target but never to the author; that I may have to send my son to a school where one has taken over the PTA such as in Lexington or Saugus, MA; that pederasts and terrorists monitor the internet better than my local community and partner with the state to disarm me, nullify my straight marriage, take video games out of circulation at Walmart, and wipe "Black Betty" by Ram Jam off the radio. I am suspicious that they agree so much with the government on the harassment, taxation, and reduction of the free will and movement of the American citizen. I am suspicious of a civilization run by leftist pseudo-Shiite indy-fundamentalists who are out of touch with the degree or even source of their highly sanitized and denuded Kantian Platonist ethics, especially if they readily endorse Likud or the Kosher Council of Vaad, or more specifically, agree with the Unitarian Universalists and far right to limit my rights and self-expression, and also agree with corporations, Mayor Menino, and the far left to limit my access to my own property, or to move with speed and effectiveness in my own community while doing harmless peasant things such as buying my groceries or going to the movies; instead forcing me to walk through feng shui Toriis, approved pathways and eating only approved foods. As an atheist, I tire both of Christians and of being instucted by Gay Marxists and Zionists to hate Christians. By that yardstick, Chip Berlet and Public Research Associates (PRA) should be measured, e.g: How is it like Indymedia, One People's Project, or Southern Poverty Law Center. PRA is like Indymedia in that it is a defensively-postured offensive organization. It differs in that its members are not anonymous character snipers. It is similar, again, in that its core are marxists who use marxist rhetoric. It is also similar in that Chip, like Indymedia editors, strongly denies what he is about. I will explain that shortly. PRA is like One People's Project in that its anti-racist veneer is a cover for marxist effrontery and political agitation in the form of participatory "journalism." It differs in that it does not employ thugs. It is more like Southern Poverty Law Center than it is like the other two. It is a handful of personalities doing hasbara work and suing people or defending people on behalf of left-shachtmanites. It differs in that its targeting of national organizations is not as robust. It is similar in that it is actually trying to take down some organizations and in that it is structured as a nonprofit. The similarity to Indymedia in one regard bears magnification: Kid searches Google, Google calls up Wikipedia first, Wikipedia cites Indymedia and Political Research Associates all over the place. This meager cross-verification passes for "fact" online and is most likely plagiarized into some high school student's term paper. Student goes on to listen to The Smiths, wastes his college education, and later joins a nonprofit. Chip Berlet drafts much of the heavily-viewed and cited bad public image for political enemies of the left. But what if the beam is aimed back at Chip and PRA? Shock! Outrage! Denial! Abscond, abscond, tiptoe, tiptoe, form new dossier...... Chip stridently denies that he operates a private intelligence agency, believing that this is sufficiently disguised by the blog, the hokey think tank position papers, and the bookstore. But think tanks only issue hokey position papers, pose as experts, and sell stupid books. PRA also offers "Key Resources for journalists, including:
That means it is a private intelligence agency for leftist groups, to mobilize information against individuals and organizations deemed by Chip Berlet to be "right wing extremists," and Chip Berlet's sense of what constitutes right wing extremism is as dubious as the sense of what Ward Churchill, Senia Barragan, Mike Gould-Wartofsky, or Michael Andrews consider right wing extremism: harmless churchgoing, any criticism of leftists, gays, or revolutionaries, any commentary contrary to Comintern's United Front Against Fascism. In his paper Right Woos Left, where he accuses left-unaffiliated critics of the Gulf War of being Anti-Jewish bigots, and where he ripped Dick Gregory for having an American heritage, he said: "The United Front Against Fascism and its allies in the Seattle and Portland areas gave me encouragement and assistance, and sponsored a public forum in Seattle where I shared the podium [.]" That means the Trotskyist anti-WTO crowd who hates globalization of Capitalism because it eliminates globalization of Communism. He also works with the Urbana-Champaign leftist contingents, in short, other places where Indymedia nodes function. He is not directly affiliated with Indymedia, but if you swung a hammer at them, you would hit him in the kneecap. My interaction with Chip Berlet on Wikipedia consisted of first stumbling across his conflict with Larouchians, which is merely his consent manufacturing and perception management portion of a larger effort on his part to write long exposes of Larouche and partner with Jewish "victims of Larouchianism" to take down the Larouche Party. This is most similar to the efforts of The Rick Ross Institute vs. the Branch Davidians, and PRA should really be seen as a private intelligence agency like the Rick Ross Institute. Chip Berlet should be seen as a left-shactmanite anti-militia "expert" or anti-cult counterpart to Rick Ross. If we had a Social Democrat President and Chip Berlet as NLG Attorney General, we could expect more Ruby Ridges and Wacos, but against a much broader definition of fanatic and right wing lunatic bigot, and Chip would have a fancy excusatory name for it. It is ironic that he considers the Red Scares and the antiterrorism initiatives to be witch hunts, when he is a professional witch hunter himself. Chip has a broad edit feud going on with people who quote Justin Raimondo's assessment of him anywhere on Wikipedia. I am a wavering, fair weather fan of Justin Raimondo, but I agree with his notorious quote: "Berlet is a professional political hit man whose specialty is smearing anyone outside the traditional left-right categories as an extremist, at best, and a nascent Nazi at worst." In his talk page feuds over Larouche and Raimondo, I also agreed with Niels Gade who said:

Hip Hop really needs a non-commie, non-zionist Ramparts, and DaveyD just can't provide it. The point is that you can't have opinions without facts, and you can't have facts without files. DaveyD gets his facts from the Nuwabian subway incense dealer. DaveyH gets his from Mossad, Justin digs for it, and Chip Berlet casts it in bricks shot from his ass. But don't deny what you are. We are rap's COINTELPRO. PRA is just trying to get sampled. To add insult to injury, PRA's intel and manifestoes are not qualitatively better than those of Larouche's EIR. I know. I read both. I wouldn't want either of them speaking at a Parent Teacher Organization meeting, or want to endure any of their inarticulate student stooge drones robotically intoning nonsequitor "facts" to captive panelists. Chip Berlet's writings are as polemically something-socialist as those found on Stormfront, and equally freakish. And like DaveyD, Berlet figuratively or literally shines the shadow of a Nazi Swastika over his passive aggressive tirades like a worse remake of the already bad movie Higher Learning. In that type of blind communication, the reader is expected to prove himself innocent of racism, sexism and fascism to a HUAC or Spanish Inquisition composed of entirely of Saracens, Gay Jews, and Socialists. Not me, bucko. In conclusion: If ... Between wheeling teenage girls off to the abortion clinic and proclaiming that the only true conspiracy is the conspiracy of monogamous heterosexual marriage against Platonic Love, you or members of your website aggregate and distribute expert data on individuals and organizations that you are trying to destroy, and if you are trying to perception manage the whole of Wikipedia against enemies of "The Revolution," And.. You are running a brokedick version of The Wiesenthal Center out of Somerville, Then... You are in fact a private intelligence agency, and perhaps even something more, something unworthy of the protections of a nonprofit.
