What Does a DJ Need?
Aside from....

RECORDS!!
PRACTICE!!!
SLIPMATS!!!!!!!!!!

More or less he needs:

(2) Technics SL1200  Turntables.  High torque Direct Drive.  High plate mass.  Pitch Control.

Cartridge and needle assembly with 3 gram tracking force, low needle mobility, low stylus tip mass, high needle visibility, 15-20,000 Hz frequency response

Numark CDX CD Scratcher.  Mix Routines to CD, spin at club same night.  Skip vinyl production and time costs.  High torque.  Extremely low latency.  Loop, Auto Cue. Independent pitch and time shift. Effects processor.  Reverse switches.  MP3 compatibility.  Some purists say fuck CDs.  We say fuck waiting to do a show.  Some purists say pushing buttons is cheating.  Others say playing records is cheating -- play instruments.  Bob Dylan's fans called him a traitor for using an ELECTRIC guitar.  That bastard!

Mixer with replaceable crossfader and volume sliders, equalizer, monitor channel.   I never tried this board.  I have a Technics board.

Closed ear, foldable, 1-2 side wearable monitor headphones.

An amplifier with 100+ watts per channel and cooling / dustproofing systems.  I can't afford this amp.

Speakers.  (Match watts and ohms to Amplifier.)

Woofer for Bass.  Another Amplifier for Woofer.

ATA turntable flight cases with recessed handles, access panels, and stackable corners.
