Boston Indymedia Center is getting really small these days.
Confirmed resignations include most of the core membership including
Svea, Sofia, Matt, Dave, Tim, and Pete's resignation in
progress. Many of these resignations are from the past two
months, with others happening steadily since November 2004.
The reasons for these departures are various but include hostility by a
subgroup of angry lesbians and feminists, false accusations of
financial mismanagement and sexual intimidation, failure to censure
members, and fear of job repercussions from workplace harrassment.
More departures over this recent period include John Grebe
and Petrina Vegan. Estrangements over bickering and
internal conflicts include tech members Joe Slag and Robert Baker.
Tenaciously
clinging to power at BIMC are anarchists Eric Ginsburg, Brian Conley,
Jamie Phillips and the hovering personalities of Sofia and Svea who
will most likely return after the competition leaves. Ginsburg is
currently enlisting anarchists for the October 29th protests.
Conley is in Iraq looking for atrocities, and Phillips is fighting the
Texas Holdem spambot.
