Star of David Misses Target                                                       by

War sure does spill into the papers!  This story is from the "I-can-say-whatever-I-want-and-claim-it-was-bad- intelligence Department.

What happened:

Canada's National Post perpetrated a yellow star hoax against Iran on the week of May 20th for the purpose of phreaking a war with Iran.  A yellow star hoax is when a hasbara issues a story that such and such country is making Jews wear name badges again.

Who fell for or amplified the hoax:

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper immediately vilified Iran for the "law," announcing that it was typical of Iranians, even if untrue.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard prefaced his great disgust with "if it's the case."

The US State Department called the "law" "despicable" and having "clear echoes of Germany under Hitler."
Fox News featured a Moroccan embassador calling for war.
WTKK host Jay Severin repeated it ten times and lathered himself into a frenzy about Ahmedinejad Hitler.
Herald News Australia (Fox News) ran but then shredded the story.  404 Error.  Last week never happened!  To be fair, the Herald is a tabloid and can never be taken seriously.

As the great windshield wiper of journalism goes back and forth, National Post weaselishly publishes "Iran Eyes Badges for Jews" and then later on, "Doubts Cast on Identity Badges in Iran", and then still later on, "Experts Say Report of Badges for Jews in Iran is Untrue."

You have probably read all the lame details by now and have formulated your own views on the issue.  And I know quite well that some of you are foaming and writhing on the ground in epi-leftist fits because I said "Fox News."  But my consideration is to do what other web plagiarists have not, and that is identify the authors and vent a bunch of embarrassing information about them.

Here is the anatomy of the hucksters network:

Chris Wattie
Author
"Iran Eyes Badges for Jews."
Rabbi Marvin Hier Dean of Simon Wiesenthal Center, Los Angeles, the alleged "human rights group" cited by Wattie.
"Raised the alarm" about "the rise of Nazism" in Iran.
Ali Behroozian Torontan Iranian expatriate cited in hoax.

The National Post did print a retraction and an explanation of how it managed to write disinformation.  If you register an account with them, you can go to their p.o.s. website, and read
their retraction a 'site under construction message' after suffering some reboots and waiting through a few hours of downloading the page.

The explanation by Chris Wattie was that he did not write his story, but that Amir Taheri from the Benador Associates did.  Taheri issued the story again on the New York Post Repost.

Benador Associates is a private intelligence aggregator and neocon PR firm based in the World Jewish capitals of New York, London, and Paris.  It is composed primarily of Eleana Benador, Richard Perle, James Woolsey, A.M. Rosenthal, Michael Ledeen, Frank Gaffney, Alexander Haig, Amir Taheri, and Charles Krauthammer.  Therefore this hoax was perpetrated by CIA, JINSA, CFR, AEI, and MEF and was seeded into the press through a news-laundering organization.  It came back into the USA via blog and newsgroup blowback, and was quickly deleted at its point of entry and denied by its original publishers.  (The story then bounces around on the internet forever.)

The war against Iran is part of the Clean Break Strategy for Securing the Realm, which is a coalition of Israeli Nationalists and American international oil and investment firms.
